World of Warcraft : Shadowlands Release Event Rescheduled due Protests

In light of the recent and ongoing demonstrations for law reforms and racial equality, Blizzard has pushed back the reveal date for the upcoming World of Warcraft expansion, Shadowlands. The event, which had been planned for June 9, was moved back to a date to be announced.

The event itself is likely to continue to be led by Executive Producer John Hight and game director Ion Hazzikostas, and it will reveal the first details on what will be coming in the upcoming expansion. We know for certain that Shadowlands will take players into the realm of the dead and will likely make significant changes to the story after Battle of Azeroth. Shadowlands will also lower the level cap to 60, in contrast to the majority of expansions that have raised the level cap.

Blizzard would usually make many of its most significant announcements at BlizzCon but the event was cancelled because of coronavirus. Blizzard is looking into hosting a digital event in 2021 instead. Other announcements and unveil events buy WOW WOTLK Classic Gold have been postponed, and publishers have offered statements of solidarity and donated money to the protests.
